Ingredients

40 minutes
4 servings
  • 1 cupChana Dal (soaked for 2 hours)
  • 250 grm bottal gourd: cut in pieces
  • 1 tbspoil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbspginger & chili paste
  • 4 cloves
  • Small piece cinnamon
  • 1 whole red chili
  • 1 tsp asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 6kokam ful
  • 1 tbspjaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 tspred chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspturmeric
  • 1 tbspcumin - dry coriander powder
  • 1|\/2 tsp Garam masala
  • For garnishing -
  • basil
  • Kokum flowers
  • split chickpeas
  • Bottle gourd peel flowers
  • Cherry
  • for serving dish decoration

    Add split chickpeas & Bottle gourd a pressure cooker and cook for 4 whistles... & other side soaked kokam ful in1/4 cup water

    Once the pressure cooker cools down, heat oil in a pan. When the mustard seeds splutter, add cumin seeds, followed by crushed ginger-green chilies, cloves, whole red chilies, and asafoetida (hing). Add a little red chili powder, then add the splitchickpeas mixture. Pour in kokum water. Meanwhile, prepare the serving dish.

    Once it boils, add jaggery, salt, chili powder, turmeric, and garam masala. Let the gravy thicken, then turn off the gas. Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with basil leaves."

    Now transfer it to the serving dish.
