Marinate the Hilsa fish piece with sat and turmeric powder and keep aside.

Heat mustard oil in a kadai.

Once hot flip and fry both sides of the Hilsa fish till light brown in colour.

Once done remove the fish from the kadai and keep aside.

Now in the same oil add nigella seeds and slit green chillies.

Once it splutters add the mustard paste to the kadai.

Now add the fried Hilsa fish piece into the kadai.

Now add turmeric powder, salt and mix well.

Simmer and cook till oil separates.

Remove from the stove and serve with steamed white rice.
