Ingredients

Prep time -10 mins, Cooking - 15 mins
4-5 servings
  • 100 gmsjujube
  • 1 Tbspmustard oil
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1whole red chilli
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1/2 cuphot water
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/8 tspsalt
  • Spice powder for garnish
  • 1 tspPanchphoron seeds
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 1whole red chilli

Steps

Prep time -10 mins, Cooking - 15 mins
  1. 1

    Wash the jujube or Kool well and break the fruits, discard the stems, set aside

    Spice powder - in a pan add panchphoron seeds, cumin seeds and whole red chilli, stir to observe change in colour, add to blender and make a powder, set aside to use for garmish

    In a pan heat mustard oil, add mustard seeds, whole red chilli and add jujube or Kool, stir and add turmeric powder, stir, add water and cook on medium flame till the size of the jujube or Kool increases which is about 5-6 mins

    Add water and cook on medium flame, add salt and sugar and mix

    Sprinkle the spice powder and set aside to serve

Tips

Wash the Jujube well, cook in water for 5 mins
Add sugar accordingly based on jujube’s tartness or how sweet you prefer
