Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 cupswater
  2. 3 cupsmaize meal
  3. 1 teaspoonsalt
  4. 4tomatoes
  5. 2onions
  6. 4 tablespoonsoil
  7. to tasteblack pepper
  8. to tasteassorted herbs
  9. to tastecurry spice

Steps

    Boil 2 cups water on the stove. Once the water has boiled, turn the heat down to 1 (or low). Remove the pot from the stove and add the 3 cups maize. DO NOT STIR! Return the pot to the stove and allow to simmer for 15 min. Once the 15 min are up, stir the maize (you will see the crumbly maize starting to form). Leave on low for another half an hour, stirring occasionally

    In the meantime, heat 4 tablespoons of oil in another pan. Slice the onion to your liking and stir until clear.

    Cut the tomatoes to your liking and add your salt, pepper, spices, herbs and/or curry and add to the onions. Stir until the tomatoes are soft. This is a vegetarian dish. For a variation try adding ground beef, or whatever your preference...and ENJOY!
