Traditional Indonesian satays use peanut sauce. Unfortunately I run out of peanuts. So I had to improvise a bit.

Ingredients

15 minutes
8 satays
  1. 1skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cubed
  2. 1 tspsalt
  3. Crushed black pepper
  4. 1 tsplemon juice
  5. 1 tbspoil
  6. 1 tbsphoney mixed with 1 tsp water
  7. 1/2onion (I used red onion)

Cooking Instructions

15 minutes
  1. 1

Mix cubed chicken with salt, crushed black pepper, lemon juice, and oil. You can marinate them in the fridge for an hour or so. (I skip this part)

  2. 2

Cube the onions. Prepare your skewers. I use a frying pan for this, but if you want to grill the satays, make sure to soak the skewers for at least half an hour.

  3. 3

Heat the pan (medium heat). Arrange the satays on the pan. Brush with honey mixture. Add more honey mixture when necessary. Flip the satays when the bottom parts have caramelized.
