I know this Maria, my grandmother was Dutch, my grandfather German , I am German , but grew up mainly on my grandparents farm in Holland near Arnheim. I now live in England .This is how she made it part Dutch to please her as really it is a ladies drink and part German way to please my grandfather who was very fond of it to say the least , I could have called it Eier Likoer , I called it eggnog instead, as I was talking with someone at the time about the differences and wanted to bring it all together in an international manner . I also mentioned in the recipe that you could eat it with a spoon.:-) :positive

275 mlbest gin,or a bit more

Steps

Mix all ingredients well together,only use the seeds from vanilla bean,keep bean for decorating if you like,until sugar is dissolved. Get a large pan with boiling water and add a smaller pan so that it is very close to water but does not touch it.Pour mixture into small pan and stir until your desired thickness is achived.I thicken mine so that I can eat it with a spoon or still drink it. I love mine over coffee ice cream.
