Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupwhite sesame seeds
  2. 1/2 cupblack sesame seeds
  3. 3 tbspcracked black pepper
  4. 1/2 cupcoarse salt (kosher or sea)

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat a dry skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add the white sesame seeds and toast, stirring occasionally, until fragrant and golden brown, 2 to 4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Transfer the sesame seeds to a bowl, and stir in the black sesame seeds, salt, and pepper.

  4. 4

    Transfer to a jar, cover, and store away from heat and light.

  5. 5

    *This salt will keep for several months.*

  6. 6

    **This recipe makes 1 1/2 cups.**

    ***This recipe is perfect for grilled seafood, chicken, vegetables, tofu, or salads.***

    ****Kuro goma (Japanese black sesame seeds) are usually available at Asian markets, most natural food stores, and gourmet shops.****

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
