In a pressure cooker put rice and toor dal, wash well.

Add water, salt and veggies (except onion) and pressure cook for about 10 minutes. Allow the steam to escape.

Add tamarind paste and bisi bile baath powder, mix well

For Tadka, heat ghee, add mustard seeds curry leaves and cashew, allow the seeds to splutter. Add to the bisi bile baath and gently stir to mix.

Serve hot with khara boondi.
