Cajun Red Beans and Rice Cajun Red Beans and Rice
I had a bag of dry beans from the panic buying spree when the pandemic lockdowns began, but I never figured out what to do with them before now. I managed to score some Andouille sausage somewhere and found this recipe that seems like it would work with what I got. 🇺🇲 #cajun 蛟龍Stormwyrm -
Cajun style red beans and rice Cajun style red beans and rice
This is my husband's creation, he's made it for years. Now that I do all the cooking, I make it. I realize it's not an original recipe, only a twist on something pre-made, but it is still delicious either way! *For a non-spicy version use the Kielbasa and no Cajun seasoning, for a little bit of spice use the Andoullie. Also tastes great with chicken. theonlygirl013 -
Creamy Cajun Red Beans & Rice Creamy Cajun Red Beans & Rice
Red Beans and rice is a Cajun dish that used to be cooked on wash day. It's a meal you put on and slow cook for hours that way you can take care of the laundry! These days it is still a major part of Cajun cuisine. When money is tight I cook this using just 2 lbs of Manda sausage instead of using andoullie & Sausage. It's a good bargain but still flavorful sausage. The family can eat this for a few days served differently. You can easily half this recipe to cook only one pound of beans. I have a large family and what's left over I will use to make chilli. Bayou Cajun Mama -

Pot of White Beans Pot of White Beans
In our neck of the woods, if you ask someone what’s for supper they’ll say, “I’m gonna make a pot of white beans and cornbread”. It’s just what it is. It’s in the top 3 staples of every self respecting southerner there is. So here’s how I do mine. It’s bare bones but so good. SherryRandall: The Leftover Chronicles -

Andouille Sausage with White Beans in Tomato Sauce Andouille Sausage with White Beans in Tomato Sauce
This is my simplified (and much lighter & faster) version of the French Classic, Cassoulet. The Andouile (or any sausage of your choice), has a light amount of heat and this dish needs not much more to make a really nice comfort-food - light and good even in summer!PS: If you like it with a bit more heat: Use Andouille and 2 or more Chorizos!
