Ingredients

  • 1 can(20 ounces) pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cupdried figs (Calamyrna work nice), quartered
  • 1 can(11 ounces) Mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 cupdiced fresh or frozen peaches
  • 1/2 cupsliced fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 mediumpear, cored, peeled, and chopped
  • 1/2 cupfresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cuppitted, dark, sweet cherries, drained
  • 2(3 inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tspgrated orange peel
  • 1/2 tspwhole cloves
  • 1 cupsugar
  • 1 1/2 cupdark rum

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine all ingredients in a glass jar.

  2. 2

    Place lid on jar and shake to blend.

  3. 3

    Shaking jar daily, store in refrigerator for 1 week before using or giving as a gift to allow flavors to blend.

  4. 4

    Serve over ice cream or cake.

  5. 5

    Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  6. 6

    *This recipe makes about 7 cups of topping.*

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
