Balushahi

Balushahi is a traditional dessert from the Indian subcontinent; popular in Indian, Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi cuisine. It is a famous sweet of Harnaut of South Bihar. It is similar to a glazed doughnut in terms of ingredients, but differs in texture and taste. In South India, a similar pastry is known as badushah.

Steps

Mix ingredients all purpose flour, salt, baking powder, ghee
Make a rough dough adding little by little water.
Cover the lid and rest for 15mins. - 2
Take wok add sugar, water, green cardamom and cook till sugar dissolve.

Add orange food colour in sugar syrup and mix it well. Switch off flame.

Take small portion from dough, grease palm make balls and flatten in between of palm, press the finger gently in the centre to make hole.

Heat oil and deep fry all the balushahi till it turn into golden.

Deep all the fried balushahi in sugar syrup for 10minutes.

Take out all the pieces from sugar syrup and keep on plain plate to set or wait until sugar coating dried on it.
