What do you do with leftover idli batter? If this batter is kept for a long time, it turns sour and one cannot make good use of it. So here is the solution. You can make tasty punukulu with the leftover idli batter. Crunchy and delicious!

Take the idli batter in a bowl. Add to it, chopped onion, curry leaves and green chillies. Mix well.
Add to the above mix, jeera and salt. Mix. - 2
Heat oil in a kadai/shallow, small pan.
Drop small dumplings of the above batter in oil. Deep fry these balls until they turn light brown colour. Remove from oil. Cool. - 3
Savor these tasty drops with your favorite chutney. These punukulu are a delight to eat, as these are crunchy outside and soft towards the core.
