Tomato Sauce Tomato Sauce
I learned this while I was abroad. This is an easy version that's light on the oil. It's a simple and delicious all-purpose sauce with no frills!Be sure not to burn the garlic when cooking it. You can make various versions by adding meat, vegetables, white sauce, sour cream, curry powder, etc. If you want to have a thicker sauce, you can add some katakuriko potato starch to adjust the thickness. I sometimes cooked chicken in tomato sauce. When I added cheese and penne pasta, it was delicious. Since then, this has been one of my family's favorite dishes. When you are cooking the penne pasta... bring it to a boil, and stir for 1 minute. Turn off the heat, cover with a lid, and leave it for the amount of time indicated on the package. Penne pasta with tomato sauce is tasty, so please give it a try! Recipe by Kaiko cookpad.japan -

I don't like commercial tomato sauce, it's too vinegar flavoured!Use this where you'd use store bought tomato sauce.Back off on the vinegar if you like, I think it's about correct but depends on the manufacturer.graeme325

Basil and Bacon Tomato Pasta Sauce Basil and Bacon Tomato Pasta Sauce
I harvested a lot of basil from the a pot in my garden, so I tried adding some to my usual tomato sauce. If you cook down the sauce too much, thin it out a bit with pasta cooking water. If you don't simmer the sauce enough though it will be watery. If you don't have fresh basil, substitute dried basil. If you don't like the sourness of tomato, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of sugar. Peruvian Shredded chicken and cilantro sauce Peruvian Shredded chicken and cilantro sauce
My take on a slow cooked whole chicken in a Dutch oven or slow cooker with a Peruvian flavor. Serve with rice, add beans if you like! Cilantro sauce is optional but really good. Plenty of chicken for a few meals. Melissa Murray
