Ingredients

4 servings

6 ozgreen leaf lettuce, cut crosswise into 1 inch slices (4quarts chopped)
1/4 cupchopped green onion
2 ozthick cut bacon, cut into bite sized pieces
1 1/2 tbspcider vinegar
1/4 tspsugar
1 pinchsalt
1 pinchfreshly ground pepper

place lettuce and onions in a large bowl

fry up bacon til crispy, set aside
3

save bacon grease, which should be 2 T while hot, add vinegar, sugar, salt,& pepper and immediately remove from heat
4

quickly scrape up all br bits from pan
5

immediately pour over salad while hot
6

toss salad til lettuce is slightly wilted
7

top w/bacon & serve at once
