Ingredients

7 serves
  1. 2 cupsflour
  2. 1 1/2 teaspoonsbaking powder
  3. 1 teaspoonbutter
  4. 1egg
  5. 1/4 cupmilk
  6. 1/4 cupwater
  7. 4 teaspoonssugar
  8. 1 teaspooncinnamon powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all the dry ingredients together except sugar

  2. 2

    Add in butter and sugar

  3. 3

    Beat together egg, milk, water and add to the dry ingredients

  4. 4

    Knead the dough to form a soft dough.

  5. 5

    Roll out and cut them into a shape that you want.

  6. 6

    Deep fry in oil until golden brown on all sides

For mahamri I think you use yeast while for mandazi it's baking powder,for the coasterians
