Ingredients

  1. 2 tbspcorn syrup
  2. 1/2 cupbutter
  3. 1 cuppacked brown sugar
  4. 1 lbbread sliced 1" thick
  5. 5eggs
  6. 1 1/2 cupmilk
  7. 1 tspvanilla extract
  8. 1/4 tspsalt

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

For the bread I use artisan sourdough or French.

  2. 2

Combine corn syrup, butter, and brown sugar in a small saucepan and simmer until the sugar has melted. Pour this mix over the bottom of a greased 9x13 casserole dish.

  3. 3

Place the bread slices over the mix. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Pour this mix over the bread. Cover and let stand overnight in the fridge.

  4. 4

Next morning heat oven to 350.

  5. 5

Uncover and bake for 45 minutes. Serve while hot or warm or it will harden.

  6. 6

Shake some powdered sugar over the slices. Top with butter and syrup.
