Ingredients

  • 2.2 lbs (1 kg)plain yogurt
  • 2.2 lbs (1 kg)ground beef or lamb
  • 2.2 lbs (1 kg)fine bulgur
  • Mixed spices
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1little walnut
  • 2 cupsvegetable oil for frying (about 480 ml)
  • 1 tablespoonbutter (about 14 grams)
  • Cumin
  • Paprika
  • 1 tablespooncornstarch (about 8 grams)
  • 1bouillon cube
  • 1little dried mint
  • 1 tablespoondried marjoram (about 2 grams)

Steps

    Rinse the bulgur and drain well.

  2. 2

    Grind the bulgur in a meat grinder, adding a little of the meat and kibbeh spices like cumin, marjoram, and paprika.

  3. 3

    In a pan, cook the meat and onions with spices in butter until browned.

  4. 4

    Add the mixed spices and salt. Once cooled, mix in a little chopped walnut.

  5. 5

    Fry the kibbeh balls in oil and set aside.

  6. 6

    In a pot, combine the yogurt with the cornstarch, salt, and bouillon cube. Mix well.

  7. 7

    Place the yogurt mixture over heat, stirring constantly.

  8. 8

    Once it comes to a boil, add the kibbeh balls and let them cook for 5 minutes.

  9. 9

    Add the marjoram and a little dried mint. Enjoy!
