Came upon this recipe when I was a vegitarian. Still love it till this day. Sometimes I add spices like basil or oregano while the tofu is frying.

Ingredients

5 servings
  1. 1 packages12oz extra firm tofu
  2. 1onion thinly sliced
  3. 1 1/2 cupbbq sauce give or take to your preference
  4. 3 tbspextra virgin olive oil or any oil of your choice
  5. 1Bread or buns. Any toppings you want like cheese, pickles, etc.

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Drain tofu between paper towels trying to get most of the water out.

  2. 2

Cut tofu into 1/4 inch slices. I usually get 4 good slices and one slice that's a little thinner.

  3. 3

In a large skillet heat some of the oil. Fry tofu until golden brown on both sides. (see pic)

  4. 4

In a seperate small skillet add oil. Fry onions to desired consistency.

  5. 5

When tofu is done drain extra fluid from skillet.

  6. 6

Add onions and bbq sauce. Let it simmer on low to just above low heat for 10 minutes.

  7. 7

Serve on bread or buns with any toppings you prefer.
