heat 2 tbs. oil in skillet and saute onions and garlic

stir in beef and cook over medium heat until browned

add salt, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, basil, oregano, sugar and parsley flakes

bring sauce to boil and simmer 45 minutes

meanwhile cook lasagna according to package directions

add remaining oil to water while cooking lasagna

drain lasagna when done and rinse to cool

in bowl, blend ricotta cheese and egg

in pan alternate layers of sauce, lasagna, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella finishing with sauce

sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese

375 degrees for 35 minutes

let stand 10 minutes before serving
