Prepare the masa so it is firm, not too runny. Add the lard and salt to taste, and mix well.

Shape the dough into balls of your desired size. The number of tamales will depend on how big you make them.

Wrap each ball in corn husks and tie them closed. Place them in a large pot with plenty of water and cook over high heat for about two hours.

Once cooked, remove the tamales from the pot and let them cool. Serve and enjoy.
