Punugulu is a favourite snack through out Andhra . It is generally made with urad dal and rice .
If we have left over dosa batter, we can make this quick snack. This is a deep fried item. We can also make a healthy version(utappam)using the same batter .

Steps

Mix suji and salt in dosa batter

Slice onion and chillies

Add it to the batter. Mix well.

Punugulu batters is ready

Heat oil in a pan, slowly drop small balls of the batter and fry them till golden brown

Can make an uthappam with the same batter. Spread the batter on the tawa

Let both sides turn golden brown. Take off the tawa and serve with some pickle or chutney.
