Basar Jhal
Basa is an important food fish with an international market.
Steps

Chopped onion and tomato. Cut the potato into long shape. Slit the chilies.

Cut the fish fillet from the middle and clean the fish very well with water. Now marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder.

In the kadai/pan heat 3-4 tbsp oil and fry the fish. Turn over the fish carefully once one side done. Fry the fish carefully else the fishes will be broken.

Now in the same kadai heat the rest oil and add kalonjee/nigella sativa. Then add potatoes and fry little.

Then add onion and saute well. When the onion becomes translucent then add chopped tomatoes and green chilies and saute them well. Now add a paste of turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.

Mix them well and cook until oil separates. Then add water as required. When it comes to boil add the fried fish.

When it reaches to desire gravy consistency then switch off the gas and serve it with steamed rice. Remember the potatoes should be boiled properly.
