Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsboiled, peeled and mashed potatoes
  2. 1 tbspoil
  3. 2 tspginger-green chilli paste
  4. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  5. 1 tbspchopped coriander
  6. 2 tsplemon juice
  7. oil for deep-frying
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. 2 tspsugar
  10. 1 cupbesan
  11. pinchsoda bi-carb

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a pan, add the ginger-green chilli paste, turmeric powder, coriander, lemon juice, potatoes, sugar and salt, mix well

  2. 2

    Divide the mixture into equal portions

  3. 3

    Roll out each portion into a round and keep aside

  4. 4

    Heat the oil in a kadhai. Dip the potato rounds in the prepared batter and deep-fry a few at a time on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides

  5. 5

    Drain absorbent paper and serve hot with green chutney.
