You can have this tart recipe ready for when you need a delicious and flavoursome snack and it will not make a hole in your packet. After having these tarts, I am convinced that sweet isn’t always best.

Make the Tart - Add all purpose flour, butter, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Keep the bowl in refrigerator for 15-20 minutes for cooling.

Take out the bowl and rub the mixture slowly with your fingertips till it becomes like bread crumbs.

Gradually add ice-cold water and knead well to make a dough which is easy to roll (add water as less as possible).

With the help of flour, roll out a portion of the dough into a circle. Place the circle into a tart case and press the circle gently around the sides of the tart case. Prick all over the tarts with the help of a fork.Repeat this step to make more tarts.

Arrange the tarts on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200ºc (400ºf) for approx. 10 to 15 minutes.

Cool the tart cases.

Make the Filling –
• Boil sweet corn in a pan on medium flame, strain water and keep it aside.

Pour oil in a saucepan and keep it on high flame on stove.

While the oil is heating, make a paste of ginger and garlic and add it in saucepan.

Add and sauté onions till it become golden brown and add capsicum.

Meanwhile cut tomatoes into big pieces. Place a pot of water and add tomatoes on the stove and bring it to a boil. Remove them after 30 seconds or when the skin begins to peel. Peel the tomatoes and make a puree.

Add the tomato puree, salt and red chilli powder in saucepan. Let it cook.

Add tomato Ketchup and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add vinegar and let the mixture become thick like a sauce.

Remove the saucepan and add Corns.

Bake the Tart –
• Preheat the oven at 160℃ for 10 minutes.

Fill the tarts with the corn filling and grate some cheese on top.

In a baking tray, place the tarts and bake it for 5-10 minutes at 160℃.

Remove the tray and serve the tarts hot.

Handy tip:
Greasing of tart moulds is not necessary, unless the moulds are new.
Add 2 tablespoon of granulated sugar for sweet tarts and 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder for chocolate tarts.
Use cookie cutter for shaping tarts in circle.Let’s enjoy these tarts and give a break to sweet tooth. You can run your imagination and make any sweet or savoury filling. Do share your experience.
