French Onion Soup
My mother's recipe!
Steps

Slice the onions into rings.

Melt the butter in a pot.

Add the onions to the butter and cook until golden brown.

Add salt, pepper, and cinnamon, and continue to cook until the onions are well browned.

Add the flour and stir with a spoon until the mixture thickens.

Add the boiling water and bouillon cube, and stir.

Cover and reduce the heat to medium. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Pour the soup into bowls, add the bread and cheese, and place in the oven until the cheese is melted.
