Ingredients

30 mins
  1. Desired pasta
  2. 1 lbsausage
  3. 1 (8 oz)can of mushrooms
  4. 1 tspChili powder
  5. 2 TBSPItalian seasoning
  6. 3 clovesminced garlic
  7. 1 (15.5 oz)jar of salsa*
  8. 1 (46 oz)can of tomato juice, divided
  9. 5 ozFrank's Red Hot®**
  10. Shredded mozzarella cheese

Cooking Instructions

30 mins
  1. 1

Boil water and cook pasta as instructed

  2. 2

Meanwhile, brown sausage and drain. Return sausage to pan (I use Jimmy Deans HOT sausage log). The hot is not hot it just has a better taste with the seasoning in it I think.

  3. 3

Combine sausage, mushrooms, all spices, garlic, salsa, Frank's Red Hot, and 1/3 of the tomato juice. Let cook, then let simmer for 10 minutes

  4. 4

When pasta is done, drain and return to pot. Then add remaining tomato juice to pasta

  5. 5

Combine sausage mixture to pasta then stir well.

  6. 6

Let simmer for another 10 minutes stir a few times

  7. 7

Serve in bowl with graded cheese on top

  8. 8

    Enjoy!

  9. 9

Mild, medium, hot salsa of your own taste. I use medium.

  10. 10

I generally like to add more but for those who like a kick but not too hot, 5oz is good. You can always add more to taste

  11. 11

This is always a great dish to make. Always a big hit with groups. Makes a big pot and if there are leftovers, the flavors blend more the longer it sits and the spiciness does too.
