Ingredients

  • 6-7medium sized boiled potatoes
  • 2 tspcrushed garlic
  • 2green chillies chopped
  • Few coriander leaves chopped
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 tspmustard seeds (rye)
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt or according to taste
  • 1/2 tspchilli powder optional
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 cupchickpea flour (besan)
  • 2 tbsprice flour
  • Pinchbaking soda (eating soda)
  • Oil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Mash boiled potatoes.

  2. 2

    Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Put Rye, when it splutters add garlic,green chillies and fry a little,put curry leaves.then add salt,chilli powder, turmeric powder,and mashed potatoes, coriander leaves and mix.let it cool.

  3. 3

    Mix chickpea flour, rice flour,salt, baking soda.Make thick batter by adding water.keep aside for few minutes.

    Heat oil in a wok for frying.Make small balls of Potato mixture. Dip them in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.

    These wada,s can be eaten with chutney and with Pao or bread.And cutting chai (tea).
