Ingredients

  • 1 cupurad dal (soaked 5-6 hrs)
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 1/2 cupyogurt (beaten smooth)
  • 2 tspsalt
  • 2 tspcumin seeds (powdered)
  • 1/4 tspKali mirch
  • 1/2 tsl chilli powder
  • 1 tspkala namak
  • 1/2 tspFor garnishing chat masala

Steps

  1. 1

    Beat dal well ti make it light & fluffy.

  2. 2

    Heat the oil.

  3. 3

    Snap the bhalla and fry in hot oil, to a golden brown over medium heat.

  4. 4

    Lift out of the oil & put into a pan of salted water.

  5. 5

    Mix the salt, 1 tsp of the cumin, 1 tbsp of the coriander leaves & black pepper into the yogurt.

  6. 6

    Squeeze out the fried bhallas & arrange them into serving dish.

  7. 7

    Cover it with yogurt garnish with the rest of the cumin, coriander leaves, chilli powder, kala namak & chat masala.
