First wash the potatoes. Put a cut in them without splitting and boil them. Peel and then keep it aside.

You can either fry the potatoes or leave them as is.

Cut onion into small pieces. Grind it in mixer grinder to make a paste. Also grind tomatoes into a paste.

Take kadhai, add oil and jeera. Once it starts spluttering, add the paste and let it fry for 5-6 minutes. Now add haldi, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt to taste. Let it mix well for 3-4 minutes.

Add water to it to make it gravy time. Now add the fried potato into it. Let it cook for sometime 3-4 minutes.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve dum aloo hot with rice, chapathi or naan.
