  2. Black pepper, to taste
  3. 5.3–7 oz Pecorino Romano cheese (150–200 g, depending on your taste)

    Meanwhile, toast the black pepper: heat it in a skillet, and after a few minutes, add a small ladle of pasta cooking water.
