Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsshort-grain rice (about 400 grams)
  2. 1/2 cuplentils (about 100 grams)
  3. 1 teaspoonturmeric
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Filling (see my other recipes for the multi-use filling)

Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the filling (ground beef, onion, parsley) as described in my multi-use filling recipe.

    Combine the rice and lentils, rinse with water, and soak for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the rice and lentils with salt and turmeric, without any oil, adding enough water to cover the rice.

  4. 4

    When the water is absorbed, reduce the heat and cook until fully done.

  5. 5

    Mash the cooked rice and lentils well.

    Stuff the kibbeh with the filling and arrange them on a baking sheet.

    Fry in plenty of oil until golden brown.

    Serve hot and enjoy!
