Ingredients

  1. 3 1/2 cFlour
  2. 1 tbspsugar
  3. 1 tspsalt
  4. 11/2 tbspyeast
  5. 2 tbspveg oil
  6. 1egg
  7. Coating
  8. 2 csesame seeds
  9. 1 cgranulated sugar
  10. 1/4 cwater

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pan add sugar and water and bring to a boil, keep stirring till golden brown, remove and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sift flour and salt. Add yeast, sugar and mix.

  3. 3

    Make a well, add egg and warm water enough to knead the dough to a firm non sticky dough.

  4. 4

    Cover and allow to rise for 1 hour

  5. 5

    When dough has risen, remove and knead again. Divide dough into 8-10 small ball size

  6. 6

    Dust your hand with flour and roll the dough into a thick wire shape.

    Fold into two and twist the dough and seal both ends.

    Dip the dough in the caramelised sugar, then the sesame seeds

    Place in a baking tray lined with baking paper

    Bake then in a preheated oven for about 20-35 min.
