  • 1 lbJapanese watercress (mizuna or watercress)
  • 1 cupcherry tomatoes
  • 1 cupsliced onion and shallot
  • Olive oil, lemon, salt, sugar

    Wash the watercress thoroughly and let it dry. Arrange it on a plate, then add cherry tomatoes, sliced onion, and shallot around the greens. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil for aroma. For the dressing, squeeze the juice of 1 lemon, add 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Mix well.

    When ready to serve, pour the dressing evenly over the salad. Top with crispy fried shallots and black pepper. This salad pairs well with grilled meat, grilled fish, or braised pork.
