In a large bowl take 1 cup urad dal and 1 cup poha.
soak for 4-5 hours in enough water. - 2
Soak 2 cup idli rice separately for 5 hours.

Now blend both to a smooth batter and mix well

Rice mix can be little coarse paste too.
Keep the batter in a warm place to ferment for 8-10 hours - 5
Add 1 tsp salt to the batter and mix gently.

Prepare the steamer and grease the idli plate with oil.
Scoop the batter into idli plate greased with oil. - 7
Place in steamer and steam for 12 minutes on medium flame or till a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Soft mallige idli will be ready to be served along with chutney and sambhar.
