This is easy to make Rasam and is very good for rainy weather.
Steps

In microwave or a vessel cook the tomatoes to good pulpy state.

Heat oil in a earthen pot. Splutter the mustard seeds.. Add the urud Dal and then the diced shallots, dry chillies and curry leaves.

Grind the peppercones, jeera, Coriander with stalk,ginger and garlic to a coarse paste. Don't grind it smooth.

Add this grinded paste to the earthen pot and stir nicely till raw smell goes off. Add the turmeric powder, hingand salt to it. Give it a good stir.

Add the tomatoes precooked and give good stir add water and cover and cook nicely. Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes and serve it hot with rice or as a soup.
