Ingredients

4 portions
  • 500 gmsFish (pomfret, surmai, bekti)
  • 1Lime
  • 10 gramsGinger paste
  • 10 gmsGarlic paste
  • 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/4 tspGaram masala powder
  • as requiredTandoori red colour
  • 2 gmsAjwain( Roasted and crushed)
  • 1/4 tspAmchoor powder
  • 1Egg (optional)
  • as requiredOil to deep fry
  • 150 gramsflour
  • 1 sprigMint leaves to garnish
  • 1Onions
  • fewGreen coriander leaves
  • 1Lime
  • 1 pinchAmchoor
  • 1 pinchChat masala

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and cut fish into slices. Apply salt and lime juice.

  2. 2

    Sieve gram flour.

  3. 3

    Prepare garnish -pick mint leaves and green coriander and put them in cold water. Cut onions into rings. Cut lemons into wedges.

  4. 4

    Mix together gram flour, ginger -garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder, amchoor powder, ajwain, tandoori red colour and garam masala powder. Add beaten egg and water to make a thik lump free batter.

  5. 5

    Dip fish in the batter and deep fry in oil, over medium flame till done. Drain well, sprinkle amchoor powder or chat masala over fish.

  6. 6

    Arrange in platter, garnish with onion rings, mint leaves, green coriander and lemon wedges.
