“GEDANG MEKUAH” is one of Bali's special cuisines. One of way to make it uses a kind of fleshy beef which is very famous with this delicacy. The flavor spicy and savory which makes it very tempting.Gedang Mekuah comes from the Balinese language: Gedang = "Papaya" and Mekuah= "with gravy," so it could be interpreted as “Young Papaya Soup”. Wholesome Chicken Soup Wholesome Chicken Soup
This is a soup I make for myself based off of 3 different recipes and with slight Asian influences (soy sauce, Chinese rice wine). Its very healthy and the broth is very rich. Turmeric is optional but delicious, looks tasty, and is anti-inflammatory. Sour cream rounds out the flavor and can help with texture if you decide to freeze leftovers for later. Cierra H. -
Beef Black Soup (Rawon) Beef Black Soup (Rawon)
Rawon (ruh-won) is another famous traditional dish from Indonesia, originated from East Java Province. What makes this dish so unique is the black colour that comes from Kluwak, which is the most important ingredient in this dish. It is very difficult to find kluwak here. Once I found it online, it was very very expensive. It's even way more expensive than the price of the beef. I believe it was about $13 for 3 or 4 oz. So everytime I cook rawon, I always use Rawon Instant Spices. Pawon Indo Bule -

Thai Green Vegetable Soup Thai Green Vegetable Soup
#nonindian - This is a very refreshing and a light soup in Thai style. I have used Thai green curry paste, kaffir lime leaves, galangal (Thai ginger), lemon grass along with lots of different veggies, coconut milk and some vegetable stock. For a non-veg. version, boneless chicken along with chicken stock can be added. This aromatic soup is a perfect meal in itself for weight watchers as it has all the goodness of vegetables. For more variations, you can add noodles, prawns, mushrooms, baby corn and broccoli too. Bethica Das -
Coto Makassar / Beef Soup Coto Makassar / Beef Soup
This is Coto Makassar or beef soup in peanut gravy, it is made from beef and beef tripe, a famous Indonesian traditional food originating from Makassar, South Sulawesi. This dish traditionally serves with ketupat or buras or just with steamed white rice. And Indonesians love to eat this coto with sambal tauco (chili sauce with fermented soy bean). I did not make the sambal tauco this time because I added some chilies in my gravy. So, this coto was already spicy. Wiwik Sunariyah
