Steps
- 1
Wash tomatoes and remove the top
- 2
Cut tomatoes into chunks and put in a blender
- 3
Blend till you get a fine purée.
- 4
Strain the purée to remove seeds and peels.
- 5
Put the purée on a stove over low heat. Do not cover.
- 6
Put the purée in a stove over medium to low heat and stir regularly.
- 7
Add sugar, salt and oil.
- 8
Keep stirring till the purée begins to thicken. As it boils it will loose water. Ensure that it's on medium to low heat so that it does not burn.
- 9
Once it thickens to your liking, switch off the stove and allow it to boil.
- 10
Once it cools, keep it in a jar. You can either freeze for a period of a month or refrigerate for 10 days.
