Steps

Soak chana dal for 3 to 4 hours (not more than that as badai will soak more water). Drain dal and add in mixie with ginger, green chillies,coriander seeds and fennel seeds and grind to a coarse paste. After grinding add in chopped onion, coriander leaves, curry leaves, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and mix well.

Mix well and check seasoning and adjust as per your taste. Add in rice flour for crispiness and also binds well if the batter is loose. Add hing and mix well and make a small amount and make flat disc. Heat oil in a pan when hot slow the flame.

Take a small portion of batter and make flat disc on hand and slowly put in the oil and fry on both sides till golden.keep the flame medium so that it cooks inside. Drain out into a kitchen towel.
