Ingredients

  1. 1 cupGreen gram
  2. 3Green chilli
  3. 1 inchGinger
  4. 2 tspLemon juice
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. as neededOil
  7. as neededWater
  8. 1 1/2 tspspEno fruit salt
  9. For Sweet & Tangy Syrup
  10. 2 cupWater
  11. to tasteSalt
  12. 3 tspSugar
  13. 2 tsp Lemon juice
  14. For Tempering
  15. 1 1/2 tspOil
  16. 1 tspMustard seeds -
  17. 4Green chilli
  18. as neededCurry leaves
  19. For Garnish
  20. as neededGrated Coconut
  21. as neededCoriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the green gram overnight
    Add the soaked green gram to a mixer jar along that, add green chilies, ginger, lemon, salt, oil, and water 

  2. 2

    Grind it to a fine batter 
    Prepare the steamer
    Pour the batter into a cake tin and add eno fruit salt and mix it gently 

  3. 3

    Place the tin in the steamer and steam it until it is fully cooked. 
    Take it out and let it cool down
    Meanwhile, prepare the sweet and tangy syrup 

  4. 4

    In a pot, heat some water, sugar, salt and lemon juice
    Boil it for a couple of minutes and start pouring this mixture onto the cooled dhokla

  5. 5

    Prepare the tempering by heating up some oil in a small kadai, and add mustard seeds, green chilies, and curry leaves
    Pour the tempered ingredients on to the dhokla
