Method for the base: Cream the butter with sugar, add egg, vanilla and beat, add flour, baking powder, salt. Mix to form a soft dough. Separate into 2 parts. Press the dough into 2 greased tart dishes and bake at 180°c for 15mins until light brown. Press the middle of tart down lightly.

Method for filling: Bring milk to boil on med heat. Beat eggs well, add sugar, flour, cornflour and salt mix well. Pour into milk and mix well. Place the mixture on low heat, stir occasionally until thick. Take off heat. Add essence and butter and stir. Pour onto the base, sprinkle cinnamon powder and set. Enjoy when cold.
