Ingredients

6 servings
  • 1 bowlchana dal soak in water over night
  • 1/2 small bowl rice flour
  • 1medium bowl wheat flour
  • 2whole garlic pond
  • 8whole dry red chilli (as required)
  • 2 tspfinely chopped green chilli
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped or grated ginger
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tbspblack pepper powder
  • 1/4 tspasafotida
  • Handfulschopped green coriander leaves
  • 1 tbspturmeric powder
  • As neededLukewarm water
  • 2 tspcooking oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Take a mixing bowl or thali now add rice flour, 1tsp oil, wheat flour some salt mix nicely add little by little lukewarm water knead it make smooth dough now cover and rest for 20 min keep aside

    Now take a chana dal wash and strain it

  3. 3

    Now take a garlic ponds peel it

  4. 4

    In a jar add chana dal, garlic, red chilli,some little water (approx 2 tbsp)now blend it make gradual and thick paste

  5. 5

    In a mixing bowl add prepared paste, and given all spices except oil,salt as par taste mix it properly

    Now take a thick bottomed skillet full with water, oil now turn on flame on medium flame

  7. 7

    Now take a lemon size portion of the dough and make a ball shape now roll it thick layer make puri shape then put on prepared mixture and stuff it

    Just like a gujiya shape then press and seal it from edge now drop in hot water

    Now cover and cook for 20 min on lower flame

  10. 10

    Pithaa is ready when a poked knife comes out clean

  11. 11

    Now turn off the flame and remove the bowl and rinse it cold water

  12. 12

    When cool down cut in to pieces and serve it

    Now it is ready
