Soak chickpeas overnight.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and asafoetida, allow it to crackle.add the red chilli. Now add onion to it.Cool till golden.

Add ginger, garlic paste, green chilli and cook for a while.

Add all the spices and mix well.

Add chickpeas and water, pressure cook till peas are cooked. adjust salt and add mango powder.

Serve lipte masale ki ghugni with roti or rice.
