#pakistankameetha.The name zarda comes from Persian wors (zard) meaning yellow , hence named since the food colouring added to the rice gives it a yellow colour. Zarda is typically served after a meal . In the Indian subcontinent zarda was and still remain a popular dessert on special occasion such as wedding ,same as popular in Pakistan.

Steps

In a pot add water bring it to boil add food colour in water and add it in water and mix well.

Then add rice and bring it boil cook it until rice are done strain rice and set aside.

In a separate pot add ghee,green cardamon,colves cinnamon sticks saute for a min

Add boiled rice sugar and and cook untill sugar completely disolve, and cook 10-15 min on medium flame. Place griddle on stove and put back pot over griddle put it on simmer for 10 min.

Add khoya dry fruits ashrafi cover and steam cook for 10 min.Zarda is ready and add gulab jamun and chum chum for garnish.
