Saravle are available at various kokan melas put up in the cities. If you can't find them it's easy to prepare at home too. Sharing the method at the end of the post.
Steps
- 1
Heat ghee in a vessel. Add crushed elaichi and saute for a few seconds. Now add the saravle and roast for a few minutes till golden in colour. Seperately boil the milk with some kesar added to it.
- 2
Once the saravle are well roasted then add the hot milk to it and cook on medium flame till it soaks up all the milk. Now add a pinch of salt and the sugar to it. Mix well.
- 3
Cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Enjoy hot.
- 4
To make Saravle at home prepare a dough by mixing 1/2 kg maida, 1/2 tsp salt and enough water. Form noodles from the dough. Wrap the noodle around a long satay stick to get tiny rings leaving a little gap between each ring. Seal the edges of the rings well. Once the whole stick is covered. Push them out gently. Dry these in the sun for a day and the Saravle are ready to use. Yoh can also add different colours to the dough.
