Ingredients

  1. 1 cuproasted sooji
  2. 2 1/2 cupwater
  3. To tastesugar
  4. 1/2 cupghee or butter
  5. 5-7cashewnuts
  6. 5-7raisins
  7. 1 pinchyellow colour powder (optional)
  8. to tasteCardamom powder

Cooking Instructions

    In a kadai, add 3 to 4 tbsps of ghee or melted butter.Then add the cashews, once the cashews turn brown,add the raisins, fry till the raisins plump up. Keep it aside.

    In the same kadai, add 1 cup of sooji and roast it with the ghee, if needed, add little more ghee to a state where to get a nice aroma. In a separate vessel, boil 2 1/2 cups of water. Then add it to the roasted sooji, mix gently so that no lumps are formed.

    Add 3/4 cup of sugar to the sooji and mix it gently.Add the yellow colouring powder and cardamom powder too. Add the remaining ghee, keep stirring while the mixture leaves the side of the vessel.

    In another bowl, grease it with ghee, add the fried cashews and raisins and then the sooji mixture.

    Cool it and invert it on a plate. Ready to serve
