Fry the pita bread pieces and place them in a serving dish.

Heat the chickpeas and add 1 cup (about 240 ml) with a little of the cooking water over the bread.

Blend the remaining chickpeas with the yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt until smooth, then pour over the bread.

Toast the almonds in 1 tablespoon of butter or ghee, then add them on top of the fatteh and garnish as desired.
