Ingredients

45 minutes
6-7 servings
  1. 14-15Chicken thighs whole
  2. 2 tbspGinger garlic paste
  3. 1 tbspSalt
  4. 1 tbspCumin powder roasted
  5. 1 tbspCoriander powder roasted
  6. 1 tbspFennel powder
  7. 1 tbspRed chilli powder
  8. 1 tbspGreen Chilli paste
  9. 1 1/2 cupsYoghurt
  10. 2 tbspLemon juice
  11. FOR HOMEMADE GARAM MASALA -
  12. 1nos Black Cardamom
  13. 4-5nos Green Cardamom
  14. 2nos Cinnamon sticks
  15. 5-6Black Peppercorns
  16. 1 tspCaraway seeds
  17. 1/8 tspNutmeg powder
  18. 1/8 tspMace powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and clean chicken at first. Make deep cuts on both the sides of the thighs. Roast Garam masala ingredients mentioned above on a low heat and then grind it to a make a powder. Marinate these chicken thighs with this powdered Garam masala and all the rest of the ingredients mentioned.

    Keep well covered in the refrigerator overnight or for atleast 3-4 hours. Barbecue on a charcoal grill or bake them in a preheated fan assisted oven on 240° for 50-60 minutes on the last rack. Cover with an aluminium foil when done halfway through just to prevent it from darkening on top.

    Reduce the temperature to 200°. Serve hot with lots of Salad and Naan. A perfect dish to celebrate Eid with your loved ones and guests. Enjoy!
