Onion. Dal goes well with chapati and garlic nan. #dal
Steps

Wash dal twice and drain the water. Pressure cook for three whistles. Cool it and open the lid and keep aside.

For barasta. Heat oil in kadai. When the oil is hot. Fry onion till it become dark brown in colour and crispy. Once it is done. Keep aside.

In the same Kadai. Add little oil. Fry panchphoron, 1 dry broken red chilly, 2 garlic cloves crushed, curry leaves and fry for few minutes. Then fry onion for few minutes. Add tomato fry it. Then add turmeric powder, red chilly powder. Saute it for few minutes.

Add dal mix...well. Add water as needed and salt. Cover and boil till it is thick. If you want juicy. Then add water as you need. Add salt also.

Open the lid add 1 tsp ghee it is optional. But I like to put ghee in dal.

Then started plating and garnish with barasta. Ready to serve with. Garlic nan...
