Steps

In a pressure Cooler add in the washed dal, Tomatoes, Green Chillies, Turmeric Powder, cumin seeds, garlic pods, salt, coriander leaves, salt and enough water for the dal to cook.

Cook for 3 whistles. after 3 whistles the dal has cooked soft.

In a pan heat some oil, add in the mustard seeds, dry red chillies, curry leaves and onions..saute till the onions are transparent.

Further add the sambar powder and pour the cooked dal

If the dal is thick in consistency, add some water and let it boil in low flame.

Check for salt and garnish with coriander leaves

Onion Tomato kosthu is ready to serve.

You can serve this with Rice, idly, dosa and chappathi's.
